SCCYAA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
APRIL 24 , 2007

Attending: Karen Smith, Deb Parkin, John Moran, Jim Markosian, Susie Rose, Gwen Schwab, Katherine Taddeo, and Roberto Taddeo.

Call to Order and Prayer at 7:10

Minutes from March 12 meeting approved.

New Business:
Basketball-Moran
Matt Boerke-New head of Youth Ministry wants to make some changes to the para program.  He wants to propose that Willie Price and John Morrell run the recreations portion and that they also have a competitive component.  Tryouts for the comp teams will be held at the local parishes and we will possible host camps and clinics at SJB.

The board voted to set up a meeting to pursue PARA rec. and comp. basketball.

SCCYAA handbook-Maddox
The final version is ready.  There was a motion made by Deb Parkin to approve the handbook, it was seconded by Susie Rose and passed.  The handbook was accepted by the board and will be presented to the SCCC board.

SCCYAA Vacancies
The following positions need to be filled on the board:

Current Sports:
Cross Country-Smith
There are 25 kids on the team.  Karen passed out a roster with their names and a list of the meets.

Boys Lacrosse-Rose
There are 150 kids playing. The teams are as follows:

Three 1-2 grade team
Two 3-4 grade teams
Three 5-6 grade teams 2-A teams 1-B team
One 7-8 grade teams 1-B team

Girls Lacrosse
Most girls in the league.  There is a 7/8 grade team and a 5/6 grade team.

Upcoming Sports:
Football-Parkin
Practices begin July 25.  Registration will begin in May.  First game will be Aug. 21.  Coaches meeting has been completed and they will get the parent meeting scheduled.

Misc

The bulletin boards in the schools will be used for school sanctioned events ONLY.
