SCCYAA EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
OCTOBER 9, 2006

Attending: John Moran, Roberto Taddeo, Laurie Maddox, Susie Rose, Karen Smith, Tricia Heinz, Deb Parkin, and Gwen Schwab.

Call to Order and prayer at 7:10

Minutes of September 11, 2006 approved.

Old Business:

Adjustments to the manual-not much needs to be adjusted.  The boards for each sport need to be included and the drafting procedures need to be included.

New Business:

Gym use-everyone using the gym needs to abide by the facilities rules and be sure it is clean and ready for classes when they are finished using it.

Soccer-Roberto Taddeo

Soccer board needs to be formed.

Real Salt Lake is interested in holding a 1 day soccer clinic at Juan Diego. It will be scheduled for either October 28 or November 4.  It will include K-8 grades. The cost will include a t-shirt with the SCCYAA logo and the Real logo, and also a coupon for reduced cost Real tickets.  It will be advertised at Dimple Dell, Treehouse Athletic Club, and throughout the Diocese.  Juan Diego High School soccer players will also help with the clinic.

The soccer academy will be held again in the spring.  More information to follow.

Lacrosse-Laurie Maddox

US Lacrosse/Utah Lacrosse convention will be held on Nov. 10. Coach’s clinics will be available.

Spring pre-planning for fields need to occur as soon as possible.

Basketball-John Moran

John Moran met with Steve Cramblitt, John Miller and Sonny Tangaro.  It was decided    to go with the Junior Jazz basketball program rather than the PARA league. 

October 21 from 12-2 will be a coach’s clinic

Nov. 4 will be the basketball assessments.

Cross-Country-Karen Smith

Todd Holzhauser is running the middle school fall conditioning.

Susie Rose, John Moran and Karen Smith will iron out the issues with Todd and the communication problem with the Middle school team.
